The Parts of Dental Implants<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dental implants aren’t one solid piece; dentists craft them from multiple components as described below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dental Crown:<\/strong> The crown is the visible part of the implant that looks like a natural tooth. It’s typically made of porcelain or ceramic and is color-matched to your existing teeth for better aesthetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bone Graft:<\/strong> A bone graft is used in situations where there is insufficient density or volume in the jaw to support a dental implant. In this procedure, your dentist takes bone away from one part of your body and adds it to your jawbone. This makes it thicker and stronger so it can retain an implant post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinus Lift:<\/strong> Your sinuses are commonly located above your jawbone. If your sinuses are too close to the area where the implant needs to be placed, it can be lifted. This provides more room for the post to attach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
