Flouride
Fluoride has long been proven to help prevent tooth decay, and provides other benefits as well.
We recommend fluoride treatments for:
- children
- adults who are at high risk for decay
- root sensitivity
- patients undergoing radiation treatment to the head or neck area
Fluoride treatments are routinely given to children in the office during their 6 month hygiene visits. For those adults who are at a high risk for decay, fluoride is an important part of our decay management protocol. For patients with sensitive root surfaces that are exposed due to gum recession, a prescription strength fluoride gel paste is provided. In addition, a prescription strength fluoride varnish can be applied in the office, or at home by the patient.
